Dr Rosie Bryson named as the First Chair for the new Institute of Innovation and Knowledge Exchange

Dr Rosie Bryson, BASF’s Development Manager for the UK, Ireland, Nordics and Baltics has been selected to be the first Chair of the NEF Institute of Innovation and Knowledge Exchange.

Rosie Bryson has worked within the biological sciences and agriculture sectors throughout her career. She has a degree in Applied Biology from the University of Bath and a PhD in Fungal Genetics from the University of Birmingham. She has published and contributed to numerous scientific articles. Rosie joined BASF Plc. – the Chemicals Company in 2006, managing their cereal fungicide portfolio, and brought with her a wealth of experience in scientific research, international liaison, communications, financial management, and business development in both SMEs and multi-nationals. Her post-doctoral research with the University of Nottingham was based at ADAS, an environmental and rural consultancy, in Cambridge where she became a Senior Research Consultant working on various Government and European research programmes. She held the position of Communications Manager at the Home-Grown Cereals Authority before moving to head R&D Project Management at Velcourt Ltd until 2005.

Professor Sa’ad Medhat, IKE’s Chief Executive said “Rosie brings an abundance of experience in the innovation management and knowledge transfer arenas gained both in industry and academia. We are really pleased to be working closely with Rosie to define IKE’s 2020 vision”.

The Institute of Innovation and Knowledge Exchange (IKE) is a not-for-profit organisation, established to promote the development of innovation and knowledge and technology exchange and transfer capabilities and resources. The Institute will focus on Knowledge Exchange as a driver for innovative opportunities in education, business and industry, and to raise awareness with policy makers. IKE aims to provide a platform for knowledge exchange by bringing together entrepreneurs, academics and public representatives from business, charities, universities and public sector organisations and agencies.
